Chalk Farm Underground station

Chalk Farm Underground station

Simon W.
Chalk Farm is a Grade 2 listed station on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line in London's Underground network. The 'ox-blood' red tiles and arches are typical of stations built by Leslie Green (1875-1908) on the Northern, Bakerloo and Piccadilly Lines between 1906-7, in a distinctive Art Nouveau style. Chalk Farm was opened in 1907 as part of the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway's original line to Golders Green. It has the longest frontage of any contemporary station and the shortest lift shafts, at just 21 ft deep. #Chalk_Farm #Leslie_Green #London #Northern_line #station #tube #Underground
