Legehar, Addis Abeba train station

Legehar, Addis Abeba train station

NHanford
Description
This is the main train station, albeit disused, of Addis Abeba, capital of Ethiopia. It is one of only two train stations in Ethiopia, built by the French in 1903 as the western terminus of the Franco-Ethiopian Railways, now the Ethio-Djibouti Railway. The term "Legehar" is a corruption of the French "Le Gare". The station narrowly avoided being torn down in 2007 for a road, yet unbuilt. #1903 #Addis_Ababa #disused #Djibouti #Ethiopia #France #gare #railway #train_station
