The Colonists Club - 14th Hole | 2010 Golf Digest Dream Hole

Nicholas C.
The Colonists Club’s fourteenth hole is a dramatic short par four that sits on the dunes overlooking Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod, MA. Its location two hours from Boston and Providence positions this course to attract both locals and vacationers throughout the Northeast’s golfing season. This strategic hole offers three options off the tee, each presenting varying challenges dictated by wind conditions and the player’s confidence that day. The safe line to the fat of the fairway short of the traps right leaves a semi-blind, short iron approach. An aggressive drive over the mound left is ideal in benign conditions, leaving a short, uphill pitch to a small green. When the wind is blowing, players have the option of going for the green. Sideboards front and right will feed low or mishit shots onto the putting surface. This unique hole presents an exciting challenge for players of all abilities. #Golf_Digest_Dream_Hole_2010
