A Christmas Story House

A Christmas Story House

Steve S.
This house in a working class neighborhood in Cleveland Ohio is the site of the one of America's most popular Christmas movies, A Christmas Story. There were actually 2 houses used to make the movie. This one in Cleveland http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/ was used mostly for exterior shots and another one in Canada for most interior shots. A few years ago this house was restored to its movie splendor and is now open to the public for tours. The movie follows little Ralphie Parker and his family in 1939 or 1940 in the fictional town of Hohman Indiana. The movie follows Ralphie's quest to get Santa to bring him a Red Rider BB gun, while his father wins a "Major Award" (Leg Lamp), which his wife hates. When you go to this house in Cleveland or even when you use Google Street View you can see the "Major Award" (Leg Lamp) in the front window. My family and I had a wonderful time when we went to visit A Christmas Story House early this year. I took the time to take plenty of pictures so I could make this model for Google Earth. Once I had finished this model, I took it one step further and made a paper model of A Christmas Story House complete with Ralphie looking out the window. You can download it, print out and put together for the holidays. Choose from 1:87 HO scale or 1:60 scale. The paper model is free and can be downloaded by visiting #A_Christmas_Story #Cleveland #Higbees #Hohman #Holiday_Classic #Indiana #Leg_Lamp #Major_Award #Movie #Ohio #Parker #Ralphie
