This shelter is located at Hirano Shrine, Kyoto, Japan. Combination of white concrete walls, untreated timber flooring and trellis with slanted grey-tinted glass roof shows modern architecture with natural approach. Slanted structure takes idea from the angled Torii gate, in a “praying hand” form, gives a welcoming place to rest before or after visiting the shrine, a serene place to study or simply dwell on the existence of God above.
