the SAN FRAN dwelling

the SAN FRAN dwelling

Paul
I think that the spatial qualities of my design lend itself well to the idea modern housing. It is flexible and can adapt to different occasions, whether it be entertaining a large crowd or having a small intimate dinner with family. The bedroom spaces are separated from the centralized gathering area, but are still close enough for the spaces to interact. Abundant natural light and openings for ventilation make this house less dependent on traditional energy methods. Solar panels and a rain water collection system add to the sustainable features of this house. The master bedroom is elevated on a pier system to minimize the footprint of the house. The house appropriately interacts with the site rather than closing itself off from its surroundings as traditional houses typically do. An abundance of glazing and minimal amount of fencing allows the users of the this dwelling to enjoy the views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bay and the city. #crissy_field #design_your_dwelling_2008 #designyourdwelling2008 #san_francisco
