Saturn I at USSRC

Josh T.
This Saturn I is on display at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. All ten Saturn I missions between 1961 and 1965 were successful, paving the way for the improved Saturn IB and Saturn V rockets of NASA's Apollo program. This display vehicle is not fully representative of a flight configuration and is missing several protruding surface details, such as ullage rockets, retro rockets, various conduits, etc. Model was created by Josh Tschirhart using Google SketchUp. Photo textures for blue hold-down arms provided courtesy of Richard Kruse (historicspacecraft.com).
