Very small wooden desktop clock

Very small wooden desktop clock

Oleg Shepetko
For private use only. A model of small (total 130 x 150 x 60 mm) desktop clock. This model has been repeatedly implemented and demonstrated stable operation. The whole complexity of this design lies in the exact balance of the active (left on the front) and balance barrels. The difference in weight of these parts should not exceed 5-7 gr, which should be enough to return the rocker to its original state. Using the adjusting screws in the body of the casks, their position is selected to ensure a stable moving the main wheel by one tooth per cycle of the electronic module. Used a magnet diameter of 16mm. Electronic control. The module is a quartz generator that produces minute and second pulses. The pulse duration is 400 ms. Through the power key, the pulse it is fed to a coil that pushes an active cask upwards. The switch sets the operating mode of the module (1 min / 1 sec). The "1 sec" mode is used when adjusting the structure. Power is provided by 2 x AA elements All shafts are made of bronze wire with a diameter of 1.4 mm. All gears are set on the shaft "in tension" without the use of glue. The dial is made of a set of segments. Used walnut (dark segments) and maple (light segments). The base and the console are made of mahogany. I thank Sergey Pribega for the manufacture of the electronic module and the structural designation of the system. It's really working! #clock #real_clock #wooden #wooden_clock #gears #wooden_gears #Its_working
