The portrait of Prince Felix Yusupov by Valentin Serov.

Zinaida V.
Valentin Alexandrovich Serov (1865-1911) was the great Russian painter, and one of the premier portrait artists of his era. He had friendships with Ilya Repin, Mikhail Vrubel and Konstantin Korovin, and worked in creative atmosphere of the Abramtsevo Colony, to which he was closely connected. Prince Felix Felixovich Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elston (1887, Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire - 1967 Paris, France) was best known for participating in the murder of Grigori Rasputin, the faith healer who was said to have influenced decisions of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsaritsa Alexandra Feodorovna. He was the son of Princess Zinaida Yusupova. See the model: "The portrait of Princess Zinaida Yusupova by Valentin Serov". The Yusupov's family acquired their wealth generations earlier through extensive land grants in Siberia, and they owned a string of profitable mines and fur trading posts. There was a time when Felix Yusupov was the richest man in Russian Empire. #Abramtsevo #Alexandra #artist #atmosphere #Colony #Empire #Felix #Feodorovna #France #fur_trading_posts #great #Grigori #Ilya #Konstantin #Korovin #land #man #Mikhail #mines #Moscow #murder #Nicholas_II #painter #Paris #portrait #Prince #Princess #Rasputin #Repin #richest #Russia #Russian #Serov #Siberia #St_Petersburg #Tsar #Tsaritsa #Valentin #Vrubel #Yusupov #Yusupova #Zinaida
