Description
Bitton Station is the main station at the Avon Valley Railway. A former Midland Railways Station near the village of Bitton which was opened on 4th August 1869 and closed by British Rail on 7 March 1966 as part of the Beeching Axe. However Bitton station was reopened as a heritige railway in 1972. Bitton station contains a booking office, gift shop and buffet - as well as a large outdoor seating area. These facilities are available to cyclists as well as railway visitors.
