Hex-base stand-up model

Hex-base stand-up model

Alan A.
This is a base for a stand-up model, useful for setting out gaming situations where hexes are used, such as GURPS, and other games. The base is hexagonally shaped and one yard across; six feet above the base is an arrowhead to show the facing of the piece. In between can be placed a 3d figure of your choice, or a 2d flat picture, also of your choice. In this model, I have laid out the steps for installing the 2d picture, using one of my own. Step 1: import the picture, sizing it to be exactly 6' high. Step 2: bring the picture to the vertical Step 3: explode the picture Step 4: Use the picture to create a Component with the quality "always face camera" Step 5: right-click on the Component and select Change Axes; place the axes in the centre of the bottom edge of the picture, making sure to run one of them along the bottom edge toward the corner Step 6: Select the picture by clicking the centre of the bottom, and move it to the centre of the base (the line across the base will assist with this). Step 7: Make the picture and the base a single component (do not select "always face camera" this time). Thus, you have a stand-up model for a gaming board; you can see at a glance which figure it is supposed to represent, the hex base will let it be placed on the board with precision (including with my 20x20 and 32x32 boards) and the facing is always obvious. #Ack #base #board #game #gaming #GURPS #hex #roleplay #standup
