Kearny Hall is the student center at Dillard University. It was built in 1935, was renovated in 1966 and 1996 and is still undergoing renovation downstairs due to Hurricane Katrina damage. The building is named in honor of New Orleanian, Warren Kearny, Dillard University Trustee. In addition to the student lounge downstairs and food services and dining room upstairs, Kearny houses the Student Government Association office and campus Post Office. Construction underway in the summer of 2008 will provide additional casual space and a study area. Developed through the DigitalCUrrents summer camp - A collaborative outreach to urban youth by the University of Colorado and Computer Magnet program of Denver Public Schools. This building was modeled by Melina Santos and Isaac Ulibarri members of the Computer Magnet.
