Travel Counsellors agents are lucky enough to be among those who will join the maiden voyage of Cunard's new Queen Victoria cruise ship on a luxury holiday visiting ports of call famed for their Christmas markets.Departing from Southampton's City Cruise Terminal on December 11th, the liner will embark on a ten-day voyage, stopping at Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, Hamburg and Zeebrugge.Travel Counsellors are joining other passengers on the fully-booked luxury cruise in order that we can review it for our customers, but members of the public can watch the ship depart from Mayflower Park.On the eve of her maiden voyage, the Queen Victoria will be officially named by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales will be attending the ceremony.More than 2,000 invited guests will attend the ceremony in a purpose built auditorium to see the ship receiving a royal christening with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne.Carol Marlow, Cunard's president and managing director, said: "We hope as many people as possible will join us down in Mayflower Park for this historic firework-filled, sailaway. It will be a wonderful sight."Onboard the 90,000-tonne Queen Victoria, 2,014 guests can be accommodated over 12 passenger decks.
