G-YMMM // The 777 that operated Speedbird 38 from Beijing to LHR. The aircraft crashed on landing at Heathrow - all 152 on board survived. The cause was attributed to ice crystals in the fuel which clodded the fuel-oil heat exchanger (FOHE) of each engine. This restricted fuel flow to the engines when thrust was demanded during the final approach to Heathrow, causing the plane to lose speed and crash short of the runway. // Thanks to AirplaneNerd, Mr. Lion, and 707. #200 #777 #Airways #Boeing #British #ER #Extended #GYMMM #Range
