Torbreck Home Apartments is a residential tower located on Highgate Hill near Brisbane. The building rises to 68m for 20 floors. The tower was the second building in Australia to use the reinforced concrete construction method. An observation lounge is situated on the roof of the building giving residents panoramic views of Brisbane. Torbreck Home Apartments was the tallest building in Queensland when completed in 1960. This building is heritage Listed. Torbreck was Brisbane's tallest residential tower from 1960-91 until surpassed by Stradbroke Tower. Torbreck was surpassed by North Sydney's Blues Point Tower Apartments in 1961 as Australia's tallest residential building. The building was created by two architectes : Robert P. Froud & Aubry H.
