Stadhuis (City hall)
Amsterdam’s City Hall (‘Stadhuis’) is part of a unique complex of buildings next to the Amstel river. The building next to the City Hall is the Dutch Opera House (hence the name of the complex, ‘Stopera’). The civil servants first went to work in the new building in 1986 and in the summer of 1988 the building was officially opened. The office area with five floors is 24 metres high and there are three marriage rooms inside. The main entrance is on the Waterlooplein. #Amsterdam #stadhuis #stopera
