Anzac Bridge Sydney

Anzac Bridge Sydney

Peter O.
The Anzac Bridge spans Johnstons Bay and connects the city of Sydney to the western and north western suburbs. It replaced the old Glebe Island Bridge that was built in 1901. The bridge is the longest cable stayed bridge in Australia with a main span of 345m and secondary spans of 140m. It is 32.2m wide. The main span provides a clearance of 28m above the water. On the eastern end an innovative spiral ramp provides access to the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. The bridge was completed in 1995 and carries 8 lanes of traffic plus a cycle/pedestrian footpath. Modelled by Peter Olsen, Brighton-le-Sands, Sydney, Australia. #anzac #anzac_bridge #bridge #bridges #glebe_island_bridge #sydney
