Built in 1909 by Bayaz Ahmet Efendi, the inn of rectangular shape is built with carved stones, has two floors, one central court and a roof in the purest Ottoman tradition. Stores at the first floor open towards streets via a series of arches. The top floor is a succession of vaulted windows and balconies with forged iron barriers.
Having served for long years the governmental organisation " Tekel ", the Metropolitan Municipality of Gaziantep acquired the building to restore it and transform it into a museum and cultural centre. There are long and short term showrooms, a formal reception room, a room dedicated to the twinned cities, a research laboratory about Gaziantep, an exhibition on craft works, a restaurant with the local specialities, a café, a bakery, stores, meeting rooms, a tourism office, workshops, and classrooms. #antep #gaziantep #kara
