Flag of Kuwait

Hermes
The flag of Kuwait was adopted on 7 September 1961, and officially raised on 24 November of the same year. The flag is composed of three horizontal bands in green, white and red, with a black trapezoid placed on the side of the flagpole. It is commonly referred to in Arabic as Alam Baladii ("The flag of my country") or more simply Derti ("My land"). The meaning of colors comes from a poem by Safie Al-Deen Al-Hali: White for our work Black for our struggles Green for our spring homes Red for spilled blood to fight the enemy. Rules for hanging and waving the flag: Horizontally: Black trapezoid on the side of the flagpole and green band must be on top. Vertically: Black trapezoid on top and green band must be on the right side of the flag. #flag #Kuwait
