Impilinna is a 14-storey apartment building by Hämeenpuisto esplanade in Amurinlinna block. The building was completed in 21.10.1954. The Building has 144 apartments in 13 floors, and each floor has four family apartments and seven studios, so the building can have around 300 inhabitants. In 1954 the 44,2 metre high building was considered the first skyscraper in Finland. The name Impilinna "Maiden Castle" comes from the fact that during its first years the building was mainly habitated by single women. Besides being the first skyscraper in Finland, it was also first apartment building where the mail boxes were on the first floor.
