Trombe Wall example

Trombe Wall example

EcoGeekDan
An example of a Trombe wall, a passive solar design feature that can help reduce demands upon a buildings heating & cooling system. During winter days, the sun shines through the glass to heat the south facing wall of thermal mass material (stone in this case). Cooler air enters the enclosed volume through vents at the bottom, heats up and rises, then exits through vents at the top. Vents should be closed at night and during summer. Note: adding an external vent to be opened during the summer make the Trome wall a solar chimney. --- Danny Bodine is sharing this model through the Creative Commons Share Alike License. #education #passive_solar #sustainable_design #Trombe_wall
