Description
The Michigan Copper Erratic Pure float%93%94 copper boulder loaned to Western Michigan University from the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources weighs in at 2 240lbs. This specimen shaped like the state of Michigan originated as part of a linear copper seam with in the bedrock of Michigan Upper Peninsula. Glaciers ripped the float%93%94 copper from its place and deposited it into what would later be called Lake Superior. The boulder sits on display outside of Rood Hall. Model by G. Martinka.
