English) 14-bis were the first airplane to fly without aid of catapult or the wind, created for Santos Dumont, and flied for the first time in 23 of October of 1906, in Bagatelle, France. The 14-bis took off using its proper ways and without aid of launching devices, it covered 60 meters in seven seconds, to a height of approximately 2 meters, before more than a thousand spectators. It was present, the Official Commission of the Flying club of France, recognized and internationally authorized entity to homologate any marcante event, as much in the field of the aerostats as in the one of “more weighed than air”. In 12 of November of the same year, again taking off for its proper ways, it covered 220 meters in 21,5 seconds, establishing the record of speed of the time. (36,84 km/h).
