The Van Abbemuseum is a museum of modern art. The museum was opened in 1936 and is located in the centre of Eindhoven. The Van Abbemuseum is named after its founder Henri van Abbe. Van Abbe loved modern art and wanted to share this love with the people of Eindhoven. In 2008, the museum's collection included more than 2,700 works of art, of which approximately 1,000 are works on paper, plus 700 paintings and 1,000 sculptures, installations and video creations. The museum owns one of the largest collections of paintings by El Lissitzky anywhere in the world. #3dClearEarth #abbe #cultuur #Eindhoven #Gemeente_Eindhoven #kunst #museum #oud_en_nieuw #studio_ode
