Lotta Svärd Museum – Civil Guard Museum is a museum of volunteer national defence. The museum is located on the former premises of South Ostrobothnian Civil Guard District, in the city centre of Seinäjoki. The buildings, designed by architect Alvar Aalto, were erected in 1925. The museum was inaugurated in 1988. The first floor of the main building exhibits the activities of the Lotta Svärd Organization. The same floor also houses the office of the Civil Guard District. On the second floor, there are, among others, a lotta canteen and an office and exhibition presenting the activities of Jaeger Colonel Matti Laurila, as well as an exhibition on the activities of the Civil Guards. Furthermore, the courtyard building provides information about the sports and leisure activities of the Civil Guards. Apart from the exhibition facilities, the first floor of the museum features an information desk and a museum shop. 3D model designed by Antti Tuurinkoski. #civil_guard #Lotta_Svärd #museum
