Greek Revival Duplex

Greek Revival Duplex

W_LeMay
This is a model of a real-life duplex that once stood at 1520-1522 Knox Street in the South Fairmount neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Constructed in the early-to-mid-19th Century, this symmetrical building had a more New England-like appearance to its facade, as it was more symmetrical and took more cues from Georgian and Federal-style Architecture than many buildings in the same style in the region, and was far more symmetrical than many of them. The building was inhabited up into the mid-20th Century, but, like many of the surrounding houses and buildings, fell victim to disinvestment in the neighborhood during the 20th Century, and was demolished sometime in the 1970s or 1980s. Feel free to use this model as you see fit, on the condition that you contact me first so I know where it is being used (I'd love to see it wherever it ends up), and give me a mention or credit wherever it is used or published. #Cincinnati #GreekRevival #Duplex #HistoricArchitecture
