This is a work in progress. I thought I'd give a foretaste of what's to come. The concept is that this was the prototype for the BD-3000 luxury droid from Star Wars. Naturally, prototypes are usually far more sophisticated and better engineered than production models. In reality, however, I just wanted to see how accurate I could get with a model in SketchUp, using nothing but rudimentary simple shapes (spheres, ovals, etc.). I chose the human form, because it's the hardest form to fake (humans being specifically adapted to recognize other humans), and I chose the female form because ... well, I'm male. Plus, androids are boring. I chose to make it a robot because even with 100% accurace, it won't look real due to the limitations inherent to the system (just look at all the imported Poser files, and you'll see what I mean). I should also mention, don't expect speedy updates to this file. I might have this done by mid 2010, given my current time constraints.
Edit (4/18/2012): Well I was expecting to get back to this sooner. I'm going to try and finish this sometime this year. When I first uploaded this my daughter was barely walking. Now, I'm having to fight her for access to the computer. :) #3d #3d_people #anatomy #BD3000 #Betty_Bot #droid #fembot #girl #gynoid #mannequin #poser #robot #Star #Star_Wars #Wars #woman #women
