California Plaza

California Plaza

Patrick Griffin
One of LA's most prestegious Building Projects, the California Plaza, was constructed between 1985 - 1992, the project rises on the edge of Bunker Hill, making the Towers look smaller, or taller than they really are, due to elevation changes. In 1985, One California Plaza was completed, a two steped Glass Tower, the building rises 578 Feet, 42 Stories. In 1991 the Luxurious Omni Hotel Los Angeles was Constructed, the building rises 17 floors. In 1992 the final tower, Two California Plaza was added, the Three Stepped Tower rises 750 Feet, 52 Floors, making it LA's 3rd tallest. Originally the project was intended to have a 3rd Tower, built on the bottom of Bunker Hill, planned at 915 feet, 65 Floors, if it had been constructed (the land still isnt developed yet, lets hope it goes through!) it would have been LA's 2nd Tallest, but again, due to elevation changes, the tower would have looked smaller (according to models) commpared to tower two. The Towers are a gleaming feature to Downtown's Skyline and has one of the most Magnificent Plazas Downtown, last time I walked through the place, a wedding was being held in the gardens! The Towers designed by Arthur Erickson Architects, the Omni Hotel by Flatow, Moore, Bryan and Fairburn. #building #california #california_plaza #downtown_la #fountians #gardens #highrise #international #los_angeles #modern #office #photo #phototextures #plaza #skyline #skyscraper
