The property consists of a single dwelling, one story house constructed in 1938. The house was built in the bungalow style. Its architectural elements include rectangular floor plan with an asymmetrical façade, front portico with decorative metal posts, and a great variety of windows – 1/1, 2/2, 4/1, and 5/1 double-hung sash windows as well as a large, louvered window on the west façade. The foundation material is brick. The front-orientated roof is made of asphalt shingle and features one lateral exterior brick chimney and a second off-center brick chimney within the roof surface.
Partial-width gable additions were constructed in the 1950s, and during the same period the original porch posts were replaced with the current metal ones, the side porch enclosed, and brick veneer applied to the exterior. The property contains a carport in the rear of the building that is not included in the historic features of the property, as well as two small sheds. The yard setting is casual and unplanned, with no definable landscaping elements. #architecture #City_of_Springfield #Georgia #historic_preservation #SCAD #Springfield #vernacular
