Lund Cathedral

Lund Cathedral

SpionSkummis
The cathedral of Lund was established in the early 12th century, when the city became an archiepiscopal see. The building is one of the best nordic examples of romanesque architecture, although until the latter half of the 19th century, when it was rebuilt under the supervision of the famous architect Helgo Zettervall, it didn't have a uniform look, but was rather a mixture of different styles. The characteristic twin towers (55 meters tall) also date back to this renovation, when they replaced two smaller medieval towers. #Cathedral #Church #Domkyrka #Kyrka #Lund #Sverige #Sweden
