This model depicts the fracture system and potential well orientation of the 50 MW Habanero system, part of the Cooper Basin EGS project under development in Australia. EGS works by fracturing hot rock, circulating water through the system, and using the resulting steam to produce electricity in a conventional turbine. The thousands of fracture points modeled are based from actual data provided by Geodynamics Limited, developers of the Cooper Basin EGS project.
