Eurolink XCR High Speed Train

Eurolink XCR High Speed Train

Seb T.
The Eurolink XCR is an electric multiple unit high speed train which is designed to be used throughout Europe to provide a high speed link. Using standard gauge and an overhead power supply of 25 kV 50 Hz, the XCR can utilise existing standard track in many countries and high speed track in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain, and by using 15 kV 16.7 Hz, standard and high speed tracks in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Here the train is in its standard ten car configuration, with seven standard class carriages, two premium class carriages, and a catering carriage. The train is fully articulated allowing passengers to move from one carriage to another, and two trains can be coupled to form one twenty car train. The XCR is designed as a replacement for my previous model, the Eurolink XConcept. The XCR has a much more advanced design, being more aerodynamic and streamlined, and it has been modelled in much greater detail, with a smoother overall profile and more advanced features, promoting a depth of realism. The XCR would be capable of reaching 360 km/h, however it would only run at speeds allowed by the track and signalling, and so would initially only run at 320 km/h.
