The Monroe Street Bridge Located in Spokane Washington. The first bridge built here was an old wooden bridge that burned down in 1890. It was replaced by a steel bridge which had problems and was later deemed unsafe. It was replaced by the bridge that stands there today. The design was copied ftom the Rocky River Bridge in Ohio but made one foot longer to classify it as the longest bridge at the time.
