English medieval carpentry example.

English medieval carpentry example.

MedievalEurope
A medium-sized medieval timber framed hall, perhaps of Wales, with a two-storeyed service/parlour end (a working and a sleeping chamber ;-) ) . As you can see, the fine gothic carpentry details are all at the inside of the great hall. There are at least three different types of roof trusses, for example a spere truss (the one with the two posts at the upper end of the hall) or a false hammer-beam truss ( the one closest to the two chambers) . There's also a canopy above where usually would be the high table. #14th_century #carpentry #england #gothic #hall #medieval #medieval_england #wales
