JM Clayton Seafood Company

Daniel B.
One of longest operating seafood companies in the nation and possibly the world, the JMClayton Co. buys Chesapeake Bay blue crabs directly from the local watermen for picking, cleaning and processing. Spanning five generations, it is owned and operated by the Brooks brothers. This building dates back to the early 1900's and serves as the main office and processing facility. Fresh crab is available for purchase by the public. It is a landmark building and prominent feature on the Cambridge waterfront. The J. M. Clayton facility was recently featured on one of the first episodes of “Dirty Jobs”, a very popular TV show on the Discovery Channel that illustrates the hard work of the waterman and workers that produce the best tasting crab meat in the world! #blue_crabs #Cambridge_Creek #Chesapeake_Bay #Choptank_River #City_of_Cambridge #crab_pickers #crabshack #Dorchester_County #James_Michener #JM_Clayton_Co #Land_of_Pleasant_Living #oyster_shuckers #oysters #seafood_processing #waterman
