Nemesis Cube

Nemesis Cube

Chris C.
Initially intended as a complementary pair to the CC the NC was designed to form interlocking layers of storage media to create test mazes. Glados thought of this highly efficient dual purpose design herself and boasted of its genius. That was until the prototype was tested. Regardless of it's mass it wouldn't depress a SCSB. It refused to interact with HLBs or EFs. It would invert upon traversing a portal. If sent by means of PV the NC would destroy the tube. Worst of all it could not be fizzled. Glados was willing to work around the NC's ill temper because a net efficiency gain of .03% was still expected. 1764 more were ordered for further testing. A revelation occurred during field trials. Although the NC worked flawlessly with the CC, when two NCs were brought into close proximity they would spontaneously detonate. Only 251 employees were killed in the incident (this number does not reflect contractors, employees children or spouses, cats, or potatoes). As the NC would not fulfill its intended purpose, nor could it be destroyed, Glados ordered the remaining 1762 NCs be dispersed throughout the abandoned lower levels. Each NC was to be hand delivered to coordinates of Glados' choosing. Unfortunately none of the couriers was ever seen again. Glados has since calculated that Aperture Science could be powered for 529 years if one NC were nested inside another, but the energy would be released so quickly that the blast would destroy the universe. She still thought about it. #companion #cube #gaben #game #glados #portal #ps3 #steam #valve #video #weighted #xbox
