This a sonderbau (one of a kind, S numbered) found at battery Vara, Møvik in Kristiansand Norway. This is the gun number 1 with casement top to the regelbau S169. The bunker is also in Baustarke A with 3.5 meter walls. The casement roof is almost 5 meters tick. This makes this bunker the biggest casement in Norway. The turret was waiting for the barrel of the gun, but is was lost as the freighter Porto Alegre was sunk the 22 of February, 1945 in the straights of Kattegat by English aircrafts. This gun was used in Bismarck class battleships in twin turrets. The mission of this battery together with Hanstholm and a large minefield was to block off the Skagerak Sea between Denmark and Norway and also the entrance to the Baltic Sea. This was successful and none of the batteries was in combat.
Same gun model as my other Vara model. But the bunker is constructed from the most detailed drawings I have seen to date. Upgrades may be available in the future. A complete model is too big to be released in on package. Therefore it’s simplified. The gun is grouped with front wall to be filled in when the work on the gun was completed. Work is in progress to get a more accurate model and gun. Thanks to Scolty for parts. All rights reserved. Please contact if you want to use it. #Atlantic_Wall #Festung_Norwegen #Møvik #Regelbau #Vara
