Millersylvania State Park Historical District

NJHS EAST
This historical site is called Millersylvania State Park Historical District. It is an 842-acre camping park. This park is abundant in old growth cedar and fir trees. Millersylvania was constructed almost entirely by hand in 1935 by Civilian Conservation Corps. This park was originally called “Millers Glade.” It was called that cause of the Miller family who once owned the property. The Miller family changed the name to “Millersylvania” which means “wooded glade.” The park was sold to John Miller. Millers family gave the park to the state in 1921. They stipulated that the land must always be used as a park. I got my information from the actual historical site web page. #Nettleton_High_School_EAST
