The Ridpath is Spokane's oldest continuously operating hotel, first opening its doors in 1900. The 12-storey tower was added in 1952. The neoclassical Symons Block, at the NW corner of the model, is listed on the Spokane Historic Register and was home to Spokane's first radio station. It was designed by Archibald Rigg and Roland Van Tyne and completed in 1916-17. The 6-storey Columbia Building (now the James S Black Building) at the SW corner, was built in 1907 and has also been carefully renovated. Other adjoining buildings included in model. #downtown_Spokane #hotel #Ridpath_Hotel #Spokane
