Refugee Shelter
By Clelia Iori From: Toronto, Canada Shelter location: Kenya Date submitted: July 14, 2009 Located at Hargadera Refugee Camp in Kenya, Refugee Shelter is live-work space. With limited access to resources and materials, the shelter is built from the making of local mud brick and indigenous plants species. The shelter includes a rain water barrel and fire place. The roof is recycled corrugated metal on thatch for water collection. The indoor space has openings on all faces to allow for cross ventilation.
