This organ console uses records to create its sound, similar to the Mellotron (though the Mellotron uses magnetic tape reels, not discs). When one presses a key, a stylus is moved into contact with the disc corresponding to its pitch. This machine boasts a total of 244 discs. Each disc holds a loop approximately 2:30 long and when the the key is released, the stylus returns to the beginning of the disc and awaits being galvinised into action by the key/pedal. The sound is picked up by a microphone (not present) and sent to speakers (not present).
