Dickson Tavern

Shaun E.
Dickson Tavern is the oldest building in the city of Erie, Pennsylvania. Built in 1812 by John Dickson and an unknown architect, the tavern has served as a hotel, museum, and other establishments. The City of Erie acquired the building in 1924; soon after, in 1930, it was documented in detail by the Historic American Buildings Survey. The tavern was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Over the years, it has been known as Dickson Tavern, Steamboat House, Exchange Coffee House, and most recently as the Oliver Hazard Perry Memorial Building. #coffee_house #dickson_tavern #erie #historic #oliver_hazard_perry #pennsylvania #steamboat_tavern
