A vessel designed solely for search and rescue operations in areas outside the range of most SARV's currently in service. It has an operational range of 2,000 nautical miles, it carries eight 24-person SOLAS inflatable boats, four 7.3m rigid hulled inflatable boats, and its helicopter deck can accommodate light helicopters. The vessel doesn't have a helicopter on board because it has no hangar but it can refuel and service helicopters. The vessel can also operate in firefighting operations at sea, maritime pollution containment and control, and can perform jackstay transfer.
The vessel can trail in a speed of 12 knots in Sea State 6, and has fin stabilizers to reduce ship roll during high waves. It has a towing capability of up to 5 tons, and can berth without tugboat assistance because of its bow propellers. She is equipped with six spotlights and four long range binoculars with thermal sight configuration to increase its capability to search for survivors at sea even at night. The ship can deliver adequate medical care, emergency medical ops, bed, food, and space for 70 passengers rescued at sea.
The ship's self defense are two mounted 12.7mm machine guns in its port and starboard - the armory houses standard arms for hard target protection and can arm all of the ship's crew of 40.
