Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado3D Warehouse Staff
The white tension fabric roof of the airport's Jeppesen terminal is a reminiscent of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains. The roof is supported by 34 masts and 10 miles of cable. The terminal houses a large display of public art. The construction allows for the airport to be easily expanded over the next 50 years. In addition to the three existing concourses (A, B and C) DIA has the land area to add two more (D and E). But before that, A, B and C can be expanded in both directions to contain 80 gates per concourse. The airfield is arranged in a pinwheel formation around the midfield terminal and concourses. This layout allows independent flow of aircraft to and from each runway without any queuing or overlap with other runways, it also cuts down on taxi distances.
