A bit of history In 1951, Juan Cortés, a former mechanic of the Talleres Seida, installed himself on his own with his own mechanic shop on Calle Valldoreix nº 1 in Barcelona. His friend Alberto Folch Rusiñol (a former customer of Talleres Seida) supported him at all times bringing his cars to do the maintenance and also contributed to his friends as customers. Already in his new workshop on Valldoreix Street, Juan Cortés joined a young man named Jaume Verge Albertos. From the union of the first syllables of the two surnames came the name of "CORVER workshops". Between Cortes and Verge there was no contract more than a simple private document that never needed to be used. The good influences and advices of Alberto Folch, and the close relationship that Verge had established with some good Italian preparers, made that the CORVER Workshops they will prosper. Over time, CORVER's engine repairs and preparations became a quality benchmark. One of the own achievements that were offered by Standard mode was the transformation of the Seat engines from 1400cc to 1800cc or 2000cc. It was thus when in May of 1965 they were associated in equal parts; Alberto Folch, Juan Cortés and Jaume Verge, the firm CORVER, SA was born, and the transfer to the new premises took place The 23 of December of 1966, once finalized the works. Over the years, CORVER, S.A. Came to have a brilliant career as a distributor of such prestigious companies as Aston Martin, Lotus or Jensen. CORVER's unique or almost unique cars Jaume Verge, and the bodybuilder Pedro Serra had known each other since 1942 and later also had met in the Captaincy of Barcelona providing military service, so when in CORVER considered the possibility of realizing cars with own lines (before Verge left the Society), Verge was one of those that more fervently bet byPedro Serra. The first Corver car built by Pedro Serra was a roadster made in 1964 on the basis of the Seat 600 and of which 16 units were made. The mechanics of this Car could be boosted up to 850cc in addition to other modifications. In 1965, Serra produced for Corver, 2 copies of a magnificent coupe on the basis of the Seat 1500, with a Mechanics highly optimized by Corver. (A year later, the bodybuilder Costa, who had already made a cabrio version of the 1500, also built his coupe version of the 1500 but for 4 places). Also in 1965 and based on the Seat 600, Serra made for Corver the so-called "Seat 600-1000 Corver Cabriolet" also known as Seat 1000, which is believed only A copy existed. For the Barcelona Salon of 1966, Serra was commissioned by Corver for a new roadster body on the basis of the Seat 600 with enhanced mechanics. Possibly the production of this model was limited to the specimen made for the Barcelona Salon. Following these unprofitable experiences, Corver reoriented economically and financially to the present day showing performances such as the Yamaha brand. These virtual models only have the intention of reviving symbolically a Catalan manufacturer, who despite their efforts could not open a gap in the difficult and competitive World of Automovil. #automotive #car #car_parts #design_wheels #engine #Hybrid #Kers #L4 #L6 #luxury #motor #racing #sports_car #V10 #V12 #V6 #V8
